Some fun photos from the week

We are concluding out time here in Beijing today, and each member of the team has commented that God exceeded our expectations in every way throughout this mission. We will have a great report to share tomorrow of the amazing ministry that took place Sunday and Monday - we have been so busy with people for 2 straight days, there was no time to write!

We have been collecting fun photos of food and signs as we travel around the city. The Chinese try very hard to make things easy for English speakers - without these translations, we would be even more lost than we have been all week. However, every once in a while one pops up that is good for a laugh. 

The food has been amazing. We have been treated so well. But there have been a few Items we thought were worth sharing for their novelty ...

I posted this the first day ... Gelatin in a fish-shaped mold stuffed with chunks of fish with lots of bones. We named it "jello fish". 

Anybody up for a slightly different kind of "OREO"? We think they were peach/berry and lemon/orange. 

This is appropriately named "uglifruit". 

This is exactly what it looks like ... A waffle covered with tuna and sweetened whipped cream. We named it "tuna waffle" :)

Rick and Frank win the award for "most adventurous eater in China". That's a scorpion. They ate it and said it was good!

The grocery store was an eye opening experience. These squid were calling our names, but we resisted the urge to bring some home with us. 

Here are some signs we enjoyed throughout the week ...

There is quite a bit more smoking in China than the US ... Fortunately this park had it covered. 

We saw this climbing the Great Wall. Good advice!

Someone saw fit to correct this one:

We honestly have no idea what this sign was trying to communicate. 

We saw this in the hotel and we think it was showing the way to the "banquet hall". 

I like to have my clothes "revised" when I take them to be cleaned ...

But the best sign of all we couldn't take a photo of ... Frank walked into a men's room at one of the public sites we visited. Above the urinal was a sign that read:

"STAND CLOSER FOR A CLEANER CHINA"
